RidgeMonkey CombiChilla 18L is a compact, powered cool box designed to keep food and drinks either chilled or warm, making it ideal for anglers on longer sessions as well as camping, travel and general outdoor use.

Built around versatility, the CombiChilla uses a thermoelectric system that allows it to both cool and heat, depending on your needs. It can drop temperatures below ambient conditions or raise them significantly, meaning you can keep drinks cold in summer or food warm during colder sessions. This dual functionality makes it far more adaptable than a traditional cool box.

In terms of usability, it features a simple control panel that allows precise temperature adjustment, helping you maintain consistent conditions for whatever you’re storing. The internal insulation and solid door seal help retain temperature effectively, even when the unit is not powered, which is particularly useful when fishing off-grid or moving between swims.

The design is centred around portability and practicality. With an 18-litre capacity, it offers enough space for essentials without becoming bulky, and can be used either in a horizontal cool box format or as a vertical cabinet depending on how you want to position it in your bivvy, car or on a barrow. An integrated carry handle and compact footprint make it easy to transport and store.

Power comes via a 12V DC connection, meaning it can be run from a car cigarette lighter, leisure battery or compatible power bank, which fits well with modern carp fishing setups. Despite the powered functionality, it remains quiet in operation and relatively low maintenance, which is important for keeping disturbance to a minimum on the bank.

Capacity-wise, it can hold roughly 25 standard cans or around 15 bottles, giving enough storage for a session without needing frequent restocking. The unit itself remains fairly lightweight for its capability, making it a practical addition without significantly increasing your loadout.

Overall, the CombiChilla sits firmly in the premium category, offering a level of temperature control and flexibility that standard cool bags can’t match. RidgeMonkey’s focus on innovative, practical gear is clear here, and it’s particularly suited to anglers who prioritise comfort and convenience during longer or more demanding sessions.
